The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services to the community.

SASSA are going to be rendering companies for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency mentioned it is alarmed about the substantial amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a superior range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office committed to service the area regularly. The service stage produced for intervention experiences a high inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it tricky for that Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to allow the servicing of all prospects and increase usage of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
